Please help us spread the statement of people from the solidarity
squat Ορφανοτροφείο in regards to the eviction of our squat in
Thessaloniki last week. Police raided and evicted the house in the early
hours of Wednesday arrested the people and afterwards transported all
non-European comrades to a military camp 45 minutes outside of the city,
meanwhile 4 European comrades are faced with a trial tomorrow.
This was my home
This was home for me and my children And for thirty more families
and many other people. We were living like one family, and we came from
all over the world It was our school, it was our culture. It embraced
our different opinions and beliefs. It was the real helping hand for
everyone. Freedom of speech and expression existed there in the full
sense of the term.
The main aim of this place was to bring together and unite all human
ideas and practices in order to serve the weak and the oppressed and
support the dispossessed. And just when we thought we were at last safe,
that we were in the right place, European governments that claim to
support justice and equality and not sectarianism and authoritarianism
and that allegedly stand for freedom and democracy decided that we don’t
deserve to live in peace. They decided we ought to live in the camps,
far removed from the world, in conditions that not even animals would
tolerate. It is hard for us to accept the truth that we’re not part of
humanity, that human rights are not valid in our case. As refugees and
immigrants our only “right” is to watch our children fall sick and die
before our eyes, watch women struggle to meet basic needs. They are
moving us around like puppets, they pull the strings and we respond
accordingly…And today the government issued another decision against us:
In cold blood it pulled down and ripped out everything. They struck with
indescribable brutality. They came prepared in full attire, with loaded
weapons, as if we were less than animals, and they pulled us out with
handcuffs before the eyes of our children.
Quickly our dreams disappeared.
They were replaced by the images we thought we’d left behind. And we thought that we would never be oppressed again. And that we would build a brighter future for our children, with no fear, in the country of freedom and rights. Yet even though discrimination is everywhere, we
still deeply that there’s a lot of people who will face up to the
difficulties. Their will is strong and they fear nothing. And they don’t
give up their dignity under any circumstance, at whatever cost. And we
hope that you’re in solidarity with us so that together, step by step,
we defend every right for every person, and we will claim everything
that was taken away from us. With the courage and strength of free
people who believe in fighting for their freedom.

> وعادت المشاهد التي اعتقدنا

> Αυτό είναι το σπίτι μου.

> Ήταν το σπίτι μου και το σπίτι των παιδιών μου, και 30 ακόμα
οικογενειών. Με τα περισσότερα μέλη ήμασταν σαν μια οικογένεια από
διαφορετικές εθνικότητες. Ήταν το σχολείο μας ήταν η κουλτούρα μας. Είχε
αγκαλιάσει όλες τις απόψεις και τις πεποιθήσεις μας. Ήταν το χέρι της
πραγματικής βοήθειας για όλους, όπου η ελευθέρια του λογου υπήρχε με την
πλήρη σημασία της λέξης. Ο στόχος αυτού του μέρους ήταν να ενώσει όλες
τις ανθρώπινες ιδέες και πρακτικές για να εξυπηρετήσει τον αδύναμο και
να υποστηρίξει τον αδικημένο. Όταν θεωρήσαμε οτι είμαστε ασφαλείς και
οτι είμαστε στο κατάλληλο μέρος, οι ευρωπαϊκές κυβερνήσεις που
υποτίθεται ότι υποστηρίζουν την ισότητα και όχι τον σεχταρισμό και
επιζητούν την ελευθέρια και την δημοκρατία, αποφάσισαν οτι δεν
δικαιούμαστε να ζήσουμε με ειρήνη και ασφάλεια αλλά τα camp που είναι
απομακρυσμένα από τον κόσμο, μέσα συνθήκες που ούτε ζώα δεν θα ζούσαν.
Για εμάς είναι δύσκολο να δεχτούμε το γεγονός πως δεν μετράμε στην
ανθρωπότητα και τα δικαιώματα δεν εφαρμόζονται σε εμάς. Μοναδικό
“δικαίωμά” μας πλέον ως πρόσφυγες και μετανάστες είναι να βλέπουμε τα
παιδιά μας να αρρωσταίνουν και να πεθαίνουν μπροστά στα μάτια μας και
τις γυναίκες μας να μην έχουν τα αναγκαία. Μετακινούνε τους κάτοικους
σαν να είναι μαριονέτες. Όπως θέλουν αυτοί να κινηθούμε, κινούμαστε.
Σήμερα η κυβέρνηση εξέδωσε απόφαση εναντίον μας με όλη την ψυχρότητα
κατέστρεψε και ξερίζωσε τα πάντα από τις ρίζες του με χτύπημα κτηνώδες
χωρίς ανθρωπιά που δεν περιγράφεται. Μπήκανε στο σπίτι μας με πλήρη
ετοιμότητα με εξοπλισμό και όπλα σαν να είμαστε κάτι λιγότερο από ζώα
και ξεκίνησαν να μας τραβάνε μπροστά στα παιδιά μας.

> Σύντομα τα όνειρα μας άλλαξαν και επέστρεψαν οι εικόνες που νομίζαμε
ότι είχαμε αφήσει πίσω μας. Υποθέταμε πως δεν θα καταπιεστούμε άλλη φορά
και θα χτίσουμε για τα παιδιά μας μέλλον χωρίς φόβο στις χώρες των
ελευθεριών και των δικαιωμάτων. Καταπιεστήκαμε από τις κυβερνήσεις σε
όλα τα μέρη αλλά ακόμα πιστεύουμε σε μεγάλο βαθμό οτι υπάρχουν άνθρωποι
που μπορούν να αντιμετωπίσουν της δυσκολίες, που διαθέτουν δυναμεις και
δεν φοβούνται τίποτα, που δεν παρατάνε την αξιοπρέπεια τους κάτω από
οποιεσδήποτε συνθήκες και οποιοδήποτε κόστος. Ελπίζουμε να είστε
αλληλέγγυοι μαζί μας βήμα βήμα για να υπερασπιστούμε όλα τα νόμιμα
δικαιώματα του κάθε ανθρώπου και να επιστρέψουμε ό,τι πήρανε από εμάς με
γενναιότητα και με την ορμή ενός ελεύθερου λαού που πιστεύει στον αγώνα
για την ελευθερία του.
