Founded in Mühlhausen and Established in Jena / Thüringen

Francais en bas, Deutsch unten

The VOICE Refugee Forum for a quarter of a century is still at the forefront of dignity and self-determination, carrying a heavy burden of a quarter of a century – because many have been relieved of their journey – many have been able to find their place, a heavy burden must be placed on the ground so as not to lose themselves as a source for the next RefugeeBlackBox.

Breaking the Culture of Deportation – Deportation is the last ring of the slavery chain | RefugeeBlackBox – Solidarity (initiated in 2017)

You are part of this history as you are part of the future, do not forget yourself and neither the one who needs support in his struggle.

How to contribute: Contribute to the VOICE’s jubilee, choose and send a photo on The VOICE for the public exhibition, contribute to the RefugeeBlackBox. Refugee and migrants’ activists and asylum seeker activists are invited and everyone is welcome to give a few words about their experiences and their testimonies in the box. We have all it takes for peoples’ new world order of solidarity with the refugee! Every refugee is the story of RefugeeBlackBox-installation, it is also a certain power of knowledge and the wisdom to find your fight; to empower your presence and your issues in solidarity with the refugee struggles and movements.

Stop deportation! Defend the RefugeeBlackBox Solidarity, your silence is killing!
Each Deportation stop pulls down the mask, that covers the human face!
The fight against deportation and isolation has always been in the center of the VOICE‘s political activism. Fighting deportation means fighting against nationalism, white supremacy, and colonial racist injustice!

Comment contribuer:

Dezember 2019 in Jena

Du bist Teil dieser Geschichte — Ein Vierteljahrhundert seit dem Aufbrechen der Isolation
25. Silbergeburtstag von The VOICE Refugee Forum, 1994-2019

So kannst du dich beteiligen:

STOP THE TERROR OF DEPORTATIONS – BREAK THE ISOLATION!!

We Nigerians, refugees from Gotha, together with activists from The VOICE Refugee Forum are calling for your solidarity. We live here in the refugee lager in Gotha and are witnessing how our brothers and sisters are being deported at nighttime.

Most of us have a long journey to escape the horror that we have experienced. On our way, we survived the desert and the Mediterranean sea. Some of us survived as well the streets of Italy, where we looked for a small shelter to protect ourselves and children from the rain and cold winds. Now, we do not sleep because every night the police might come and deport us back to Nigeria or any other country. Our lives are dominated by the permanent fear that the German government is putting on us and our children.

This fear has increased since last year we heard that the Nigerian and German governments are talking to deport up to 30.000 Nigerian brothers and sisters from Germany. They are selling and pushing us without asking how and where we would like to live. They ignore our wishes to live a life in peace, security and dignity. We have not fled to here to live in an isolation camp in Thuringia. We want to shape our future and that of our children.

We cannot accept how we are pushed from one to another country and how
our lives are endangered. We cannot accept how unsafe countries and
societies are labeled safe and refugees are sent back there, as it is done for refugees from Afghanistan.

We call for a parade and demonstration with Refugee Black Box Installation and Performance here in Gotha. With our presence we show what the bureaucrats in both, the German and Nigerian, governments are doing: They destroy our lives. Since 2011 both governments have strengthened their cooperation. One of the main areas is migration. On the one side the people are biometrically captured by technology provided by Germany and on the other side Nigerian refugees are deported from Germany. The award for every deported refugee is economical contracts and money that is fed to a corrupt regime.
We call for other refugees to solidarize and build a common struggle against the inhuman attacks on us. The new laws are further cutting the minimum rights we had. We have no other opportunity than to stand up for our dignity and those of our children.

We ask all other refugees to build their own Refugee Black Boxes and installations to show the communities’ networks of solidarity. Let us know how you see the deportations and the isolation that you are forced to live in.

We call on all progressive activists, friends and sympathizers, refugees and non-refugees to join us in launching our campaign against deportation of Nigerians and to protest against the deportations and against isolation of refugees.

Bring your Refugee Black Box!

Send your solidarity message to us. If you are not able to come to make your own Black Box you can send a photo of your Refugee Black Box to the Facebook page of the Refugee Black Box:

If you cannot come you can give a small or big donation for our fellow sisters and brothers that want to come to Gotha from Erfurt, Jena or elsewhere but cannot afford the ticket due to the limited money they have as refugees. Donations, one Euro or more, can be transferred to the account of THE VOICE Refugee Forum given below.

RBB Press: Refugee Black Box is a political agenda.

Power to the people in the revolutionary form and not just as a slogan. The idea must be extended to all people of the world in a practical way. Slow but powerful and strong.

Solidarity is not only our weapon, but it is our resisted oppressed bodies.
Our presence is our resistance and our resistance is our solidarity.

The Refugee Black Box activists with African Community of Guineans in Jena, The Afghanistan refugee community and MOVE in Erfurt with the Refugee Cafe in Goettingen will be demonstrating with us.

[Testimony] The symbol of the Refugee Black box: Break the silence, break deportation by Regina Mauricia Kiwanuka

Original source: The voice forum

Break the silence, break deportation by Regina Mauricia

Some say that the Africans must try and forget or accept the calamities that befell the African continent. “Stop singing colonial injustices, stop singing the slave trade slogan,” they say. We all know that these calamities have not only ravaged other lands in other continents, they have succeeded in eliminating populations over populations of various nations in the course of escaping the detritus left behind by the aggressors. Today, a refugee is either burned alive in cell number 5 and forever silenced, or brutally deported and left for dead, or they are dumped here in asylum camps with horrible conditions.

That is the situation at home and abroad, and that is why refugees shall never forget and or try and accept the calamities because the old ones are being replaced with fresh ones. Refugees are ambushed here and also at home with the injustices in our homelands and the ones here in Europe.

Witnessing our brothers and sisters getting kidnapped from the shores of the African continent and dragged to faraway continents to enslave and abuse them in the most inconceivable manner that shall haunt and torment the Africans for generations to come is not something that leaves one´s memory. As if that was not enough, before the poor African peasants
could recover from the first dreadful trauma, the very same people returned in another form of enslavement known as colonialism.

The continent was demarcated to satisfy the colonial masters´ tastes and likings. The demarcation separated the populations under the divide and rule policies of the masters. Before the African people picked up the pieces to try and reorganize their continent, the resilient leaders of the continent that were to guide it back to its tracks, were killed off one by one by the same aggressors. Thomas Sankara (Burkina Faso), Kwame Nkrumah (Ghana), Patrice Lumumba (Congo), Ben. Kiwanuka (Uganda),
Stephen Biko (South Africa), the list is endless.

This confusion resulting from the selfish intrusion that tore the African continent apart during the masters´ conflict among themselves for ownership of various lands and regions, is the same tyrannical operation imposed on the minorities in the name of deportation here in the federal republic of Germany. This collision that impacted the African continent and spread on to other lands in various continents has compounded us together in a form of the minorities of the western hemisphere.

The black box symbolizes the subsequent transparency expected to emerge from all the atrocities imposed on the refugees in Europe and especially here in Germany. The black box must be broken to reveal and to correct all the wrongs subjugated to that fateful Airplane. The Airplane was enormously tampered with and killing many in the process, that reads our homelands. We are the refugees, the minorities that should be compensated within the human rights horizons, compensated for the afflictions that befell us in accordance with the black box´s findings.

The aggressive deportations, the inhuman conditions in the asylum camps, the social exclusions that shall always remind us of the apartheid, the burning of refugees like Oury Jalloh in cell number 5 in Dessau. The brutal killings of refugees within the police brutality in the form of serving and protecting the citizens, the various forms of psychological torment are all patterns of brutal and greedy exploitation.

This interprets that the Berlin conference of 1884 to 1885 that begun the colonial journey is tantamount to the FRONTEX. The FRONTEX is the killer whale to the refugees, just as the horrible nightmare of colonialism affected all refugees and destroyed their countries. FRONTEX is another REPRODUCTION of the same exploitation and infringement, because this time the invasion to our numerous countries whether colonized or not has a different formula.

Silence is not an option, it is a non-existing phrase in our understanding. The ancestors in those days had no voice, they were
attacked and destroyed right before their very eyes, some were even caught unaware. This is another generation that is expected to respect humanity for proper reconstruction and to eradicate the ignorance of the society on the abuses and crimes of the deportation regimes and to unfold the colonial injustices of the system up to this day. WE WILL RISE كُلّﻪ ما تَمامْ Exhibition and Archive in Progress
WE WILL RISE gives a space for reflection for the people of the refugee movement aswell as an exchange with people who are not (yet) part of the movement. It is a growing exhibition and archive. It focusses especially on the time since the tent actions and the protest march from Würzburg to Berlin, the protest camp on Oranienplatz and the squatting of the former school in Ohlauerstr. It has the aim to make history visible and accessible and to use it for the present and the future. The exhibition
and archive is just a beginning. It can only grow if you take part in it and add what is important to you. We want to struggle together with you for a permanent place for this work.

WE WILL RISE كُلّﻪ ما تَمامْ

Break the Deportation DNA Chain: “Refugee Black Box – The irrepressible voice and power of the afflicted” – Beyond the Court rooms!

Break the Deportation DNA Chain: "Refugee Black BoxOfficial Announcement: Break the Deportation DNA Chain: “Refugee Black Box – The irrepressible voice and power of the afflicted” – Beyond the Court rooms!

27th to 29th January 2017 in Jena, Thuringen

“Our main focus of discussion will be breaking the deportation chain from within; with discussions on strategies of Break Deportation Acts: Our historical backgrounds and past political struggles against deportation and social exclusion will be the guide to our continued engagement for justice and human dignity.”

The VOICE Refugee Forum, Activists of the Refugee-Migrant Community Network together with Anti deportation activists will be presenting and discussing the very first agenda and plan of the project event: ” Refugee Black Box – The irrepressible voice and power of the afflicted” in Jena, over the weekend of the 27th to the 29th.

This is a Prepar-Tainment weekend meeting for the political project event:
“Refugee Black Box – The irrepressible voice and power of the afflicted”

What do we want to talk about?

Our main focus of discussion will be breaking the deportation chain from within; with discussions on strategies of Break Deportation Acts: Our historical backgrounds and past political struggles against deportation and social exclusion will be the guide to our continued engagement for justice and human dignity.

We want to discuss how we, the refugee-migrant community activists in Germany overcome the different faces of injustice in Europe. We will speak about our experiences, the struggles and campaigns of the refugee community against the deportation cultures of the German and European racist nationalism, against social exclusion in Germany. About how we fight against the abuse and violation of our rights, the corruption of the deportation system, societal ignorance including German elites and politicians vis-à-vis human dignity and freedom of movement.

Prepar-Tainment Agenda

Friday and Saturday (27th and 28th):

There will be Workshops and Podium discussions. During discussions the Photo Exhibition of the Refugee Community Strike protest “We will Rise” by the Oplatz Refugee Movement will be part of our political arena with Street theatre, Rallies and Demonstration. In the evenings after discussions and workshops, there will be Solidarity Music and Concerts.

Saturday evening:

Cultural Contributions and Solidarity Live Concerts in Café Wagner, Jena. Also on the list are:

– Schwabinggrad Ballett together with the performance group Arrivati who call themselves „autonomous collective of refugees and People of Colour“, from Hamburg.

– System D „a crossing borders musical experience, challenging the oppression, political situation, borders control: Reggae is not dead.“ (Leipzig)

Sunday: Continuation of the discussions and perspectives on the way forward

“Refugee Black Box – The irrepressible voice and power of the afflicted” is a political experiment and a process to re-create our alternative space and critical enlightenment, through the Refugee Political Solidarity X-Ray on the decades of refugee struggles against the centuries of colonial injustice of deportation.

The concept is a process of inspirations from struggles like: The Caravan Internation Refugee Congress Jena – “Unite against Deportation and Social Exclusion” – the beginning of the Residenzpflicht campaign in 2000, Oury Jalloh’s death in Police Cell No 5 in Dessau and the ensuing court trial in 2008, the Caravan Festival on Colonial Injustice in Jena 2010, Break Isolation Refugee Camp in Erfurt with the preparation of the Refugee Protest March from Würzburg to Berlin in 2012 and the Refugee International Tribunal in Berlin in 2013, which were organized by The VOICE Refugee Forum and The Caravan for the Rights of Refugees and Migrants. (See links below) It is in the spirit of continuity of The VOICE Refugee Forum struggles since 1994 from the Mühlhausen refugee camp.
Refugee Black Box actions are planned to expose the ignorance of the society on the abuses and crimes of deportation regimes and to make the colonial injustices of the system visible.

Like Marcus Garvey said, “Never forget that intelligence rules the world and ignorance carries the burden. Therefore, remove yourself as far as possible from ignorance and seek as far as possible to be intelligent”.

Like in a tribunal, it is about charging the system and giving a platform to the afflicted to bring their own charges to public awareness. In addition, it has elements of a festival with its cultural space. The idea parodies the black boxes of aircrafts. It contains sensitive information that are vital to its functionality. The afflicted can submit their charges and these would form the basis of the next protest actions against the pervasive colonial injustice.

Join us in the 2017 grassroots struggles of the refugees community movement, to make “Refugee Black Box – The irrepressible voice and power of the afflicted” a concrete and empowering political solidarity weapon.

“By coming together, we will continue to learn from each other, develop our strength by continued self-empowerment to break the deportation culture and to overcome the different faces of injustice in Europe. Most of us are victims of war. Some of us lost our families; many of us are separated from their children, wives and husbands, while countless number of us died on the journey to Europe under the watchful eyes of FRONTEX. As a result, many of us remain traumatised today. Yet, instead of being given the necessary therapeutic and other support, we are discriminated against, subjected to brutal and greedy exploitation and exclusion, various forms of psychological torture and expected to gratefully accept our unspoken label of subhuman or „Untermensch“ in the name of refugees because we don‘t have bombs raining on us.” – Review on Break Deportation Culture – Deportation is criminal and we fight to stop it! http://thevoiceforum.org/node/4210

Deportation and its corruption of legal systems and regimes are criminal. Stop the deportation system! Fight racist nationalism!

Lets shake things up! – Bring down the deportation regimes! Stop the deportations!!!

Please make donations, engage and work with us for an independent refugee community and Join us for the 2017 grass root struggles of the refugees communities on our movement to make “The Refugee Black Box ” a concrete political solidarity weapon.

The events will be financed by public donation and solidarity contribution only.
