Stop deportation of Hasan Dinler!

image

We demonstrated for Hasan Dinler‘s freedom

Hasan Dinler spent many years in a Turkish prison. After his initial release, he received a lifetime sentence. He had to flee to Europe and here faces the same isolation as in the Turkish prisons.

He applied for asylum in Spain, but was rejected. He is currently imprisoned in Switzerland for deportation to Spain. He is subject to the notorious Dublin II procedure. Hasan Dinler began a hunger strike while imprisoned for deportation to protest against the isolation and racist procedures.

When we, the revolutionary refugee movement centered around Oranienplatz in Berlin, received this message, we decided to hold a spontaneous demonstration. One of our activists knows Hasan from Turkish prison. They were in the same ward and in the same cell. Now they face the same isolation in Europe, so they resist the forces that isolate them.

We marched from our protest camp to Kottbusser Tor with our banners and flags. Many people from Turkey live in this area. There we occupied a café. We hung our banners from the gallery. We shouted slogans and held speeches. After a short while, police officers arrived and spoke to the workers at the café. However, they did not feel harassed by us and did not complain to the police, so the police let us continue our protest.

For a while, we moved about in the crowded streets around the traffic hub. We held speeches in Turkish and German. Other people joined our demonstration. Afterwards, we wanted to proceed to the Spanish, Swiss and Turkish embassies, but the police blocked our route. After a long discussion with the police, we arrived at the Brandenburg Gate. There were many people here who could listen to us. During our speeches, a woman with racist motives attacked us verbally. This woman blared out that all refugees should be deported.

Throughout the day of our spontaneous demo, we handed out blank forms for the fax campaign in support of Hasan Dinler. People from Spain also participated in our spontaneous demo. We loudly protested for the freedom of all political prisoners. Several police squad cars followed our demo. The police pays particular attention to our demonstrations; whenever we protest, scores of police cars and officers arrive instantly.

In Switzerland, a new law is about to be passed which allows officers to sedate refugees who protests against their deportation with medication to facilitate the act. All European countries are creating more restrictive laws against refugees and migrants. All opposition is beaten down radically.
