this is our 13+14th protocol to form a “lager mobilisation network” in berlin. again, around 15-25 people were there – thanks to u all. please add, correct and criticize in the comment section.
protocol #13+14 – forming a ‘lager mobilisation network’ in berlin
1. introduction of the network for our new people
2. reports from the lager-visits
3. demonstrations
4. flyer in audio-language
5. building a financial group
6. deportation problem
7. discussing political aims of the group
8. next central and decentral meetings
1. introduction of the network for our new people
our goal is to have a decenteralized lager-mobilisation in berlin and hopefully one day in brandenburg. we already visited some lagers, did some research about the shit living conditions inside and how they are built to make money off of illegalized and isolated human beings we label as “refugees”. right now there are over 33.000 people (official number by lageso) just in berlin in lagers.
the lager-mobilisation-network is an open network with decenteralized working groups against the slavery which taking place inside the lagers – so join like u want and your personal scheduele allows u to participate; plus we do not do anything “illegal”. we are people from all over the world and speak english during our meetings, but german translation is always possible, for other languages hit us up please – or if possible bring your friends with u.
after some re/thinking rounds, practical action and personal connection we developed two guidlines for the coming steps, but these ideas are dynamic and realated to our possibilites and the exprience we gain, a short summary:
i. short and mid-term:
a. we will go and talk with groups who know and can teach about the legal problems and educate ourselves in this direction and then visit again the lagers in small groups and spread this hardly needed information as the people asked us when we were visiting them; in addition to this we take info flyers etc. with us about the legal situations. we also invite (not force…) the so-called refugees living in those lagers we visit to be part of our group.
b. we want also be part of the “neighbourhood/welcoming-initiatives” and bring some alternative ideas and information from the self-organized struggle additional to their great charity work.
–> therefore we need some more people who speak different languages like: arabic, albanian, dari/farsi, serbo-croatian, tigrinya, urdu etc. – every languages is needed.
–> decentral working activists: people who are interessted to take care of the lagers in their around their living places like the districts they are living in and contact the people inside of lagers and participate in “neighbourhood/welcoming-initiatives” there – we (will) start very slow but very focused idea on this.
ii. long-term:
we are searching for rooms all over berlin outside but next to the lagers to build up small communities so people can organize themselves for the time they are forced to live inside of lagers. plus we will accompany them and try to bring alternative content like workshop etc. to those places – if its needed!
–> if u have a room or contact for such rooms (house projects, meeting-rooms), please let us know
–> if u know people for such content/workshops, please connect them to us
2 .reports from the visits
friedrichshain:
landsberger allee:
mostly single persons
2 or 3 people per rooms
office is not helping/explaining the process
there are some events done for people in lager by the lager management(football game, restaurant)
people are getting transferred from this lager to other places
no visit allowed there
local group:
– just 4-5 people
– working with people in lichtenberg who are visiting lichtenberg
– contact with a person from a hausproject with other other houseprojects to create free spaces
– visit for one of the emergency lagers
– converting to welocme2germany-guides in audio-flyers: arabish und english and planned farsi
airport-tempelhof:
– situation hasn’t improved at all, but there is a new rule that prohibits people to have visitors in their camp ( no friends, no family, noone)
– so it was just possible to talk with people outside of the camp -> they collected a list of complaints people there had to give it to the flüchtlingsrat as a documentation
-after there were some fights in the camps, lager management seems to be really nervous, so it’s getting difficult to get inside the lagers at all
– no possibility for the children to drive to kindergarten or schools
– same shit: very few showers and still busses to take people to showers
– face control with pictures for thrown out people
– political parties were demanding the shit situation
tempelhofer ufer:
– gym: many people in one room
– people are angry: food is shit, no privacy for women. no wahsing the clothes
– paper from flüchtlingsrat: none of the points was valid for this lager
– the people were contacting the legal help and went to protest at lageso
– a room outside at lunte at 4pm, tomorrow –>
– another room: ida nowehre – donauerstr. –> no scheduele
jansporthalle:
one guy kicked out because he was taling to the media
he said he is yasidi and he has the idea
he was kicked out personally by michael elias (company: tamaja)
wedding:
3rd meeting on sunday
some new people came to the meeting, so there was a lot of time used to explain the group
group is trying to organize wi-fi connection for the room
1st time also people from the lager were there
one person from the lager will speak to other persons in the lager and think about what they want to do in the room
hungerstrike:
some people did an hunger strike for one day to get an appointment at lageso, it worked for them, they got an appointment the next day
there is one hostel with 180 kids, we are trying to get in contact
brandenburg:
– maybe on monday, check for brandenburg:
– check out wandlitz-welcoming initiative
– collabration with kub
external report from spandau-olympiastation:
– business with people and security who are speaking the same language like the security guards
external report from preznlauer berg:
– there is a new gym lager again…
3.demonstrations
demo for the asylum law and situation for the balkan route:
17th december 2015 – borderline europe
4. flyer in audio-language
proposal to get information we want to share into an audio-format ( in the languages needed) to spread it more easily ( by cellphones, e.g. using bluetooth)
we have access to a studio where it would be possible to record it
the information on the flyers may be outdated, some person offered to gather new information and update the flyers
– languages covered
farsi
serbian
babylonian-language-school is requested to do some translations
5. building a financial group
one person from wedding did a request for money at hu university
there was already a request for the central group at tu university, its already in process
maybe each group builds its decentral financial group so groups are more independent in financial
central fincances group for:
printing
travel expenses
lawyer emergency
there are 2 persons who want to get involved, mabe 1 person more would be better
we will use our online plattform to have a good overview on our local and
6. deportation problem
– dublin3 case: 1 person from the group has, invited for interview (fingerprints were reported in hungary (eurodac))
– someone will accompany to the interview
– lawyer is needed: kub has a list of lawyers for such cases
2 lawyers on the list speak the language needed
this would also be a field we need financial ressources for
7. discussing political aims of the group
neukölln group did a flyer to invite people which also contains the political aims(right now it’s in english, but it will be translated to other languages), but until now they are in an unclear situation about what the goal was
also,they organized a room at 5pm every wednesday at “lunte”(weisestraße 53 )
if until now it’s not clear what the goal of the group would be, neither for people in lagers nor for people in the group, it’s also not clear what to use the room for
discussion ideas:
right now it’s more networking, try to get in contact, find out about what people need and what people want to do
its probably difficult for people who weren’t already politically active before to get into all the political language and thinking
also it may be frightening people whose status is unclear to get politically active if they don’t know about the consequences
it is important to hear what people have to say in their own words
maybe it’s problematic to narrow the way we speak to the political language
could be good to get an “outside” perspective from some people who are living in lagers and have the first contact to the group
there is a difference between politizing someand and giving information
it’s important for people to have a lot of information on actual discussions and developments, so they can form their own political opinion
maybe after it’s evolved more, we discuss again
external questions:
question 1 and offer: buying a bus is planned to buy, do we need it too for the lager-mobi?
– why not? but: lager mobilisation is not a campaign or tour with a clear ending and route, its permanent.
question 2 and offer: empowerment workshop from activists could be given: do we need it.
– contact was forwarded to the neu-kölln group because they have an decentral room already.
