Call: Distribute “Daily Resistance” Newspaper

Daily Resistance NewspaperDear people of the world,
We have published the second issue of the newspaper “Daily Resistance” (You can read it as PDF here), and now it’s the time to bring the paper to the hands of people living in the lagers.
The newspaper is now ready for distribution!
We are looking for people who have contact to so-called refugees in lagers and can help to spread Daily Resistance.
It is one thing to produce this paper, print it, hand compile it (!) but a totally different one to get it out into the world.
Join us and spread the newspaper to the newcomers and others concerned!
Where can you get the newspaper?
You can pick up copies at the bookshop ‘Leseglück’ in Ohlauer Str. 37. They are open from 10:00 – 19:00 every day exept sunday. Just go there and ask for how many copies that you want.
If it is not possible for you to go pick up the newspaper yourself, we can post it for you. Just get in contact with us, let us know how many copies you can distribute and where we should send them to: dailyresistance@oplatz.net
Daily Resistance is for free.
It is important to us that you understand, that you can get the newspaper if you don’t have money – especially if you live in a lager yourself and like to distribute there.
Who is behind Daily Resistance
We are a mixed group of people and activist in Berlin who fight against isolation and lagers in oranienplatz and other places.
Daily Resistance is a periodical newspaper on actual paper written by refugee activists aimed to reach people in lagers. We want to inform them on the state of resistance in germany and to empower them for their everyday resistance against the system.
After publishing  the first issue, we have received a lot of positive feedback. Many people srarted to write for the newspaper or distribute it in lagers. Initially, we printed 2000 copies. Soon they were all gone and we realized we have to print more. In the end, we distributed more than 5000 copies in Berlin, Munchen, Jena, Erfurt, Bremen, Darmstadt, Kiel, Hannover, Delmenhorst, Landshut, Oldenburg … also in Manchester and Vienna. In Thessaloniki, people managed to throw packages of newspapers over the fences of a closed lager. This is all incredible and gave us the energy to continue. We like to thank everybody who moved the newspaper forward and invite all to join in the fight of breaking the isolation in lagers. This is a communal newspaper, feom people for people.
What’s written in the second issue?
In the second issue there are texts from people living in the Lagers around Germany and also from the freedom fighters who already got papers and still continue the struggle against the larger system. for example from very wellknown groups like womem in Exile, The Voice Refugee forum, people from the Berlin Refugee movement like Turgay Ulu, Bino, Adam Bahar, Tresor, Mai Shutta and International woman in space, CISPM, The street roots and more.
In this issue a lot of activists write about the so called Welcome Culture in combination of the new restrictions to the asyl law and also about the Köln silvester night happening and the sexual violance towards refugee women in lagers. More than that different groups have their space to represent themselves and get connected to the other activists.
Recently the Roma activists started to make different actions in berlin against the deportation of the Roma people to the so called safe Balkan countries which is still going on. You can find out detailed information about it in the last page and also how can you support/join their protest.

While we were preparing the radio show on the Rom*nja families’ protest in Berlin against iminent deportation by the german state, some of the families went on to Regensburg and tried to find shelter at Regensburg Cathedral. After some days the Diocese of Regensburg called the police and prompted state authorities to evict those people by force from the church’s premises. One of the people who had asked the church for shelter was arrested by police forces due to a complaint the church had placed against the group. Look here for further information.

Weitere Informationen findet Ihr hier

OPRE ROMA! Roma are here to stay!  – radio liveshow & discussion with live music by “RollinHopp” & “Inclusion 4 Real” 17.07. 6PM

Since May Rom*nja families are protesting in Berlin against imminent deportation and for the right to stay of all Rom*nja people. On May 22nd they choose the ‘Memorial to the Sinti and Roma Victims of National Socialism’ as a symbolic place to stage their protest, since today, 80 years after the Holocaust, they are still facing structural discrimination, social and political exclusion and deportation. The ‘Association for the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe’ who as well is in charge of the memorial dedicated to the Sinti and Roma victims reacted swiftly and prompted the police to eject the Rom*nja families by force from the ‘Memorial to the Sinti and Roma Victims’.

What are the demands of the Rom*nja families in Berlin, how is the situation of the Rrom*nja in Germany and Europe and how can we campaign together in solidarity? We will discuss these topics with our guests – people of the Rom*nja families and from other Rom*nja groups in Berlin.

OPRE ROMA! Alle Roma bleiben! – Radioliveshow & Diskussion mit “RollinHopp” & “Inclusion 4 Real” on stage live – 17.07. 18:00

I am very exited to announce and invite you all to the opening of Wearebornfree! Cafe` at Waldemarstr.46, 10999 Kreuzberg- Berlin on the 15th of July 2016 starting from 11am.
As far as you, since the eviction of our protest camps at Oranienplatz and the school- Ohlauerstrasse. After the fake agreements there has been no anymore platform for us to meet again in a normal way. Yet there are a lot to be done and due to the current situation of refugees in Germany and Europe as a whole requires us to rethink, use the time and space we have strategically.

The Cafe` will serve as a platform for all friends and enemies, and more especially the queer refugees, women and children. But also as strategic platform to reach those we cannot reach through street protests such as Voters, Donors/ Fundraiser, Authorities, police, Neighbors, Academies, and so on politically, socially/ culturally and economically.

There will be film screens, book readings/ spoken words, discussions, music, and radio shows as well as soup and African food some times.

The price is your presence, willingness to share and empower Wearebornfree! Cafe` programs.

Crowdfunding: Call for support the “Refugee Movement journey to Greece”

We are a group of 13 people from different countries, almost all living in Germany. We speak a lot of different languages, e.g. Arabic, English, Farsi, Dari, French, German, Kurdish, Pashto, Urdu, and Turkish. Most of us met during the self-organized refugee struggles in Bavaria, or in other anti-racist contexts. Most members of our collective came to Germany as migrants from Non-Western countries.

All members of our collective believe in freedom of movement for everybody and the right to choose to go where people want, whenever they want. We believe that for this to become true, it is necessary to provide reliable and trustworthy information for migrants: About their journey to and through Europe, and on the asylum system in EU member states.

That’s why we are planning to travel through Greece for two weeks, from the 24th of March to the 8th of April. We aim  at meeting people on the ground, in order to provide them with information through leaflets in different languages. We will also have info panels on the bus, displaying maps and legal advices about Greece, the destination and transit countries. Most of us have also experienced the situation of coming to Germany as a refugee and are able to share this with people who aim at going there.

For this we need your financial support! Especially to be able to pay for travelling from Germany to Greece, the printing costs, gas and renting costs for the bus we are dependend on your help. Furthermore, we would like to have a generator with us to be able to offer a charging hub for peoples mobile phones.

If you have some spare money that you can donate to us, you can transfer it to the following account, that we can use. It is also possible to get a donation receit.

Global Action Day Against Racism 20th of March

Global action day against racism

Global action day against racism

Refugee Club Impulse (RCI) and My Right is Your Right invite you to the
CARNIVAL AL-LAJIÌN_AL-LAJIÀAT:

Join the Demonstration for the Global Action Day Against Racism on the 20th of March – 12 Noon – Platz der Luftbrücke!

Carnival has a longstanding tradition of resistance. It was once a place where societal structures were revealed and confronted. Carnival creates a culture of laughing and creative resistance that confronts the ruling system. In face of raising numbers of racist attacks, political successes of right-wing movements and continuous tightening of discriminating asylum policies, resistance is extremely important. Racism made it into the centre of society.

Let’s take back the streets to show that we are here to fight for a real change in our society! The right to stay is freedom of movement is a human right!
With performances, dances, masques, costumes, flash-mobs, music, spoken word, banners and chants we want to hold up the mirror to the current political state of affairs and set a sign of solidarity against it. This will be a celebration of our various struggles, demands and ideas! Join us!

The Carnival was brought to life by the self-organized theatre collective Refugee Club Impulse (RCI). My right is Your right! joins RCI’s call for the Carnival al-lajiìn_al-lajiàat. My right is your right is an alliance of refugees, creative artists, activists, lawyers, freedom fighters, clubs, unionists, neighborhood initiatives, and many other groups and individuals who started working together in November 2014. Moreover, well-known Berlin theatres are intensively participating in

the preparation of the Carnival. We take the protests of Oranienplatz and Gerhart-Hauptmann-Schule in Kreuzberg, that began in 2012, as starting point. We are calling all anti-racist forces, all those involved in the daily struggles against the discriminatory asylum policies and all those who want to prevent racism from becoming mainstream, to join us.

To succeed in making this year’s Day Against Racism a large, colourful, loud and widely visible celebration by carrying our demands from the places of our daily struggles into the middle of society, we need the collective power of the anti-racist and refugee movement.

Come to the Carnival of Refugees on the 20th of March

Refugee Club Impulse (RCI) und My Right is Your Right laden euch ein zum KARNEVAL DER GEFLÜCHTETEN

Seid dabei!

Ins Leben gerufen wurde der Carnival vom selbst- organisierten Theaterkollektiv Refugee Club Impulse (RCI). My Right Is Your Right! schließt sich dem Aufruf des RCI zum Carnival Al-Lajiìn_Al-Lajiàat an.

even if it was your choice to go to hell, maybe it was the only door open. you try to put flowers and take a cage for a bird to bring life to your cell but the flowers and the bird pass away and leave you alone in your cell, maybe it’s a sign for you to continue your way and go out of the hell.

WE WILL RISE gives a space for reflection for the people of the refugee movement aswell as an exchange with people who are not (yet) part of the movement. It is a growing exhibition and
archive. It focusses especially on the time since the tent actions and the protest march from
Würzburg to Berlin, the protest camp on Oranienplatz and the squatting of the former school in Ohlauerstr. It has the aim to make history visible and accessible and to use it for the present and the future. The exhibition and archive is just a beginning. It can only grow if you take part in it and add what is important to you.
We want to struggle together with you for a permanent place for this work.
