NO to VIOLENCE against WOMEN from CALIFATE TO PRIVATE/ NEIN zu GEWALT an FRAUEN von KALIFAT bis PRIVAT

PallasT, Pallasstr. 35, 10781 Berlin (corner Potsdamer Strasse).
Connection with public transport: U1 Kurfürstenstr, U2 Bülowstr, U7 Kleistpark, Bus 106, 187, 204 or M85 and M48 stop at Goebenstr.
As well planned:
DEMONSTRATION on Tuesday, 25th of Nov. at 4.30pm at Hermannplatz
– Don`t forget your flashlights!! –
The 25th of Nov. as international day against violence against women is based on the killing the three sisters Patria, Minerva and Maria Teresa Mirabel in Dominican Republic. As partisans of a movement they were fighting against the dictatorship of Trujillo. For this fight they were paying with their lives. They were killed on a 25th of Nov. in the year 1960 by Trujillistas. Also the killing of Sakine, Fidan and Leyla on 9th of Jan, 2013 is showing that female partisans are still targets of extralegal executions.
Despite of international interventions the 26 year old Reynah Jabbari has been executed in October this year after years in in a death row, all because of killing her rapist, who has been a member of the secret service.
At least every third woman effected by violence
This year we like to attack the whole bandwith of women repressions, precisely warlike, violence against women on the run and in migration, domestic violence and violence in each social context against women.

Already in the past rape has been used as a weapon within the wars. Therewith whole communities have been enslaved and an uncountable number of women has been tortured and women`s souls have been destroyed though the women have not active warriors. The scandal is, this practice is still ongoing nowadays.
These crimes are well known from wars in former Jugoslavia, from Ruanda and currently in Iraque and Syria, where thousands of women in Shengal have been hauled off, raped, killed or sold as slaves by solders if IS (Islamic State).
How many women are being raped on the run or in migration is normally not being published. This effects especially to raping and torturing women in a refugee camp.
Violence against women is not a private topic
Violence against women is a clear violation of human rights. In June 2013 WHO has published a study concerning “epidemic dimension of brutality against women”. More and more women getting a victim of violence. More than ever supposed. Happening in all countries, all cultures and all societies. This study shows that worldwide more than 35% of all women – every third woman (!) – are exposed to physical violence. This includes also tortures by forced prostitution and in matrimonies, where women do not have their own permission to stay. The stigmatizing integration discussions along ethnic/religious polarization of social problems, the long sticking to racial based citizen rights and the restrictive design of asylum and foreigner laws have clearly enabled the situation of social exclusion of many female refugees and as well supported the backward oriented and old-fashioned traditions and moral ideas.
In line with expanding the marriage duration from 2 up to 3 years in the foreigners laws, the government acted as a supporter for the offenders of matrimonies violence to all violence effected female refugees.
The sexual assaults, that women with handicap are exposed to in workshops and similar institutions are as well an effect of structural proportions of power. And not even finally women are exposed to violence even in their own families and in their jobs.
Why are women often so powerless exposed to that violence?
Which ways of organizing, help, support and resistance are there?
Exactly about that we want to talk about during our event and therefore we have invited female speakers
– from council of “ezidische” women in Germay about the situation of women in wars
– from “International Women Space” for situation of women on escape and in migration
– from BIG e.V. about domestic violence, the help system as well as dismay of children and youth in case of domestic violence
After the speaks we would like to discuss with you, how women can defend themselves together

Krieg,
