Erklärung des Landesvorstandes der GEW BERLIN: Refugees welcome
Wir halten die Räumung des DGB-Hauses für menschlich fatal und politisch das falsche Signal. Der Vorfall macht deutlich, dass wir eine breite innergewerkschaftliche Debatte und klare Positionierung in Solidarität mit den Geflüchteten brauchen. Wir werden diese Debatte in unserer Gewerkschaft und unseren Untergliederungen vorantreiben und fordern den DGB und die Einzelgewerkschaften auf, sich zu positionieren und darüber hinaus zu folgenden Punkten klare Beschlusslagen zu schaffen:
- Praktische Solidarität mit den Geflüchteten,
- Zeitnahe Organisation einer Konferenz zum Thema „Aktive Flüchtlingspolitik“ unter Einbeziehung der Geflüchteten, gemeinsam mit anderen DGB-Gewerkschaften sowie dem DGB selbst und in der solidarischen Flüchtlingspolitik aktiven Organisationen (z.B. Flüchtlingsrat Berlin-Brandenburg),
- Geflüchteten die Mitgliedschaft ermöglichen.
Darüber hinaus erwarten wir die Rücknahme aller Strafanzeigen. Sollte dies nicht möglich sein, soll von einer Nachverfolgung dieser Strafanzeigen vor Gericht Abstand genommen werden.

Statement of the Executive Committee GEW (Union of Education and Science) Berlin:
Refugees welcome
We consider the eviction of the DGB (German Federation of Trade Unions) to be humanly fatal and politically it sent the wrong message. The incident made clear that we need a broad debate inside the trade unions and a clear position in solidarity with the refugees. We will push this debate in our unions to advance the following points and ask the DGB and the individual trade union to clearly take positions on and above all take positions on the following points.
- practical solidarity with the refugees,
- organize a conference in the near future on the theme “Active Refugee policy” including refugees together with other DGB unions as well as the DGB and in the organizations which are actively in solidarity with refugees (i.e. Flüchtlingsrat Berlin-Brandenburg/Refugee Council Berlin-Brandenburg
- make membership in the trade unions available for refugees
Above all, it is expected that all legal charges be dropped. If this is not possible, the charges should be waived in court.
