Report from the 2. day of the trial. Again lots of people came to support us. Today court hearing started with a police officer giving testimony. His statement was largely based on interpretations of March4Freedom’s website and on presumptions.
Then another four police officers made their declarations. Hardly any specific points were raised concerning the accusation we have been charged with. Nor could they confirm if we actually committed the crimes we’re accused of. Everything was left very unclear. Afraid of having been infected with contagious diseases like HIV for example some police officers even took strong medication. They said that up till now they were traumatized by the effects of the medication they took.
Later on injured police officers were given the opportunity to claim compensations. Some of them did and all together they’re demanding 19.200 Euros from us. We’re awaiting the judge’s decision. The plea of our lawyer was good and combative according to those who were provided with adequate translation.
The state prosecutor couldn’t make his final statement today; he will make his plea tomorrow. In our absence. We set out straight away after our press conference (soon to be uploaded and linked) and for the next two months we’ll be waiting for the courts ruling. We’re glad the trial has come to an end but it’s not over yet. We still don’t know the sentence and what fines we possibly could face. At this point we want to say thank you to all of you who have been accompanying and supporting us so far.
