85 hungerstreikende Geflüchtete am Sendlinger Tor Platz in München für Bleiberecht

hunger-strike-sendlinger-tor-münichMünchen, 02. November 2016

The Struggle Continues!

hunger-strike-sendlinger-tor-munich2nd of November 2016, Munich

3rd day of Hunger Strike at Sendlinger Tor

On the 31st of October the struggle continues, in a nicer way. We just started the third phase of our protest, which means: hunger strike. In the first phase we were living at Sendlinger Tor to show our realities in the camps, eating, sleeping, watching TV, going to the toilet, and silencing all comments, which claim that we have everything. But our reality, our life is a modern prison, this is what we wanted to show. But we also wanted to draw the attention to the politicians and authorities. But unfortunately nothing, nothing at all came back from the authorities. At this point we started the second episode, which meant marching from Munich to Nuremberg. On the way we informed more people, distributed flyers, had direct contact with the population, but also and especially we were facing the BAMF and its bureaucrats, who are with their coffees in front of their computers, destroying our lives and our hope for integration into a society, that we had been part of for many years.

From the moment on, we fled persecution, war, corruption and crossed the impossible – namely the sea, the desert, and all the dangers that we met to find security – we had to realize unfortunately that the reality is another one.

Today is the third day of the hungerstrike, something that we were hesitating to do because of respect for religion, respect for our body, but also respect for the gift of life which we have the chance to enjoy here on earth. It is not a game, as a journalist asked me, it is a question of life or death and in any case, we don’t have a life, and this life, our life – it is the most precious thing we have – with this the authorities play, we turn depressive, get psychiatrized, all the illnesses which come of the flight, the insomnia, the crises caused by stress.

I ask myself, why not offering our lives to them and then they can decide how they want.

This situation cannot stay as it is, it has to change and we are doing all the necessary what has to be done, when it has to be done, because we have nothing to lose. Absolutely nothing and if there is nothing to lose, it is an opportunity, which we need to take, so let’s use it.
