Why an exhibition and Archive about the Refugee Movement?
The Refugee Movement is a very broad movement. It is rooted in a long history of decolonial struggles. In the current struggle with its tent actions, protest marches, hungerstrikes, protest camps and roof actions, … , many many people join and leave the movement. The structures are very open and are renewed again and again. The movement changed a lot of minds and public opinions. Many achievements are made on personal levels as well as on political levels. A lot of knowledge how to fight, work and live together in such an incredible movement is produced by the fighters themselves. The exhibition WE WILL RISE is a collection of this important knowledge to use it for the ongoing movement.
Often the daily needs, troubles and changes inside the movement not allow us to have enough space for a deep reflection together on what we are doing and how we are struggling. WE WILL RISE intends to create a space for reflection for the people of the movement aswell as an exchange with people who are not (yet) part of the movement. The rise of the movement continues.
The continues dying at the outer borders of europe and many many protest actions of refugees in the recent years call the attention of the media and the public. But still the voices of the protagonists are not heard enough. The exhibition want to be part of the change of perspective in public concerning the fight of refugees.
WE WILL RISE is a growing exhibtion and a growing archive of the movement. It focusses especially on the time since the protest march from Würzburg to Berlin, the protest camp onOranienplatz and the squatting of Ohlauer school. It is not the aim to put all the information in a museum to declare it as history and closed. It is the aim to make history visible and accessible to use it for the present and the future. But the exhibition and archive can only grow if the people of the movement contribute to it. The exhibition need permanent places and spaces in order to grow and be accessible.
Nonetheless the demands of the movement – Abolish Residenzpflicht! Abolish all “Lagers”! Stopp all Deportations! The Right to Education and Work – are not yet made. To make the demands we need a process that the struggle reaches every corner of society. This exhibition is part of this process.

لماذا يجب ان نقوم بمعرض ونجمع تاريخ حركة نضال الاجئين
ان حركة احتجاجات الاجئين حركة كبيرة ورائدة وهي جزء من حركات نضال طويلة ضد العنصرية والاستعمار الجديد وفي فترة حركة احتجاج الاجئين التي بداءة مع حركة بناء الخيام ثم المشي علي الاقدام حتي برلين ثم الاضراب عن الطعام ثم خيام الاحتجاج
ثم احتلال سقف المدرسة
عدد كبير انضم للحركة واخر غادر وهذا النظام المفتوح احد العناصر الجيدة للحركة وغيرت الحركة كثيرا جدا في المستوي العام وحتي علي المستوي الشخصي فتحت منافذ كبيرة وواسعة لاشخاص كثر ومررت خبرات النضال لاخرين واول حركة تقم علي جهد شخصي للاجئين انفسهم فكانت كاول حركة لاجئين تقوم بابراز قدرات الكثيرين
ياتي هذا المعرض لابراز كل هذا الجهد وفرصة طيبة لتبادل الافكار ومواصلة طريق النضال الذي لن يتوقف
